I have been thinking about this for awhile and I finally decided to go to the HLAA Convention in Milwaukee in June. I have never been to one before and I'm really looking forward to it.
Last spring I attended a mentor training for the Bionic Ear Association. That was the first time I was part of a group with the commonality of hearing loss. I really enjoyed the feeling of kinship and continue to enjoy the friendships that developed. I'm really looking forward to this convention and hanging out with my friends.
Enjoy, which I'm sure you will. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to go to it, but for me it depends upon what happens with work (I've applied for a new full-time job) and if I can afford it.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could go. I have been to several hearing loss conventions, but only one HLAA convention when they were here in Seattle back in 2001. Last Oct. I went to ALDACon and I've been to IFHOH up in Vancouver, plus many SWC conventions. I think you'll have a blast. It's amazing to sit in a room with loads of HH/deaf people who all understand your issues. Have FUN! I wish I could go!
ReplyDeleteHave a great time Glenice!
